About
Hi, I’m Sylvie. I help your story find its perfect flow.
Every writer knows the feeling of reading the same paragraph twenty times and somehow becoming less certain with each pass. That’s where a fresh pair of eyes helps.
I’m a University of Chicago–trained fiction editor specializing in developmental editing, and a communications professional with more than eight years of experience.
I also have two master’s degrees, which probably explains why I’m strangely comfortable living inside long documents. Somewhere in between, I became fluent in three languages.
My job isn’t to make your manuscript sound like me, but to help it sound like the very best version of you.
My Approach
Personalized feedback:
Every manuscript reflects an author’s vision. My role is to understand what you are trying to do and help align the elements of craft with your story so it reaches readers the way you intend.
Openness:
I approach every project with curiosity and respect. I will not judge your ideas or subject matter, but engage with them thoughtfully and help you execute them according to your vision.
Honesty:
Honest feedback is the foundation of trust between author and editor. I will tell you what is working, what needs attention, and why, always with the goal of supporting your story.
