Yes. Before any work begins, I send a service agreement outlining deadlines, payment terms, scope of work, and other important details so both of us know exactly what to expect throughout the process.
Yes. A 50% deposit is required to secure your editing slot. The remaining 50% is due upon delivery of the edited manuscript and editorial materials.
My feedback is direct but constructive, and I focus on understanding what the manuscript is trying to achieve rather than forcing it into standardized formulas. I approach editing as a collaborative process. My goal is not to rewrite your story for you, but to help you see where the narrative, pacing, character work, or emotional impact can be pushed further.
I strongly believe editing works best as a collaborative process built on honesty, trust, and mutual respect. This includes:
- Openness to feedback and revision
- A willingness to engage critically with the manuscript
- Understanding that editorial feedback is about strengthening the work, not criticizing the writer personally
- Respect for deadlines and communication throughout the process
I currently specialize in developmental editing and line editing rather than standalone copyediting or proofreading. My focus is primarily on story, structure, pacing, character work, and authorial voice.
However, I will still note noticeable grammar issues, inconsistencies, and awkward phrasing throughout the editing process. This should not be considered a substitute for a dedicated copyedit or final proofread before publication.
Line editing focuses on the writing at the sentence and paragraph level. It looks at things like flow, clarity, pacing, dialogue, emotional impact, and how effectively the prose communicates the story while preserving the author’s voice. Copyediting is more technical. It focuses on grammar, punctuation, spelling, consistency, formatting, and style guide rules.
I currently accept PayPal and bank transfers for both European and international clients.
Turnaround times vary depending on the manuscript length, service type, and my current schedule. Most projects are completed within three to six weeks. A more precise estimate will be provided before booking.
I usually respond within 36 hours during the work week. If a message requires a more detailed response, I will acknowledge receipt and let you know when to expect a complete reply.
I offer free sample edits for line editing so authors can get a sense of my editing style, the level of feedback I provide, and whether we are a good fit to work together. I do not offer sample edits for developmental editing. Developmental work involves evaluating the manuscript as a whole, including structure, pacing, character arcs, emotional progression, and narrative cohesion.
Meaningful developmental feedback requires understanding the full context of the story rather than isolated pages, so a small sample would not accurately reflect the depth or quality of the final edit.
Each project includes follow-up communication for questions related to the edit itself, as well as one re-read of the manuscript after revisions to evaluate how the changes are working overall.
However, extensive editing of newly rewritten material, additional drafts beyond the included re-read, or substantial new content is not included unless agreed upon beforehand. For authors who would like continued editorial support through later drafts, additional feedback can be arranged separately based on word count and project scope.
